Introduction to Wrestling

Wrestling is one of man's Oldest Sports.

It's not "Airplane spins" or "pile drivers."   Those terms describe the sort of action you'll see in professional wrestling and is closer to entertainment than it is a sport.

It's an increasingly popular sport that reguires strength, flexibility, and conditioning of its athlete.  It's an idividula sport. A wrestler can't hide behind his teammates.  He must accept the fame for winning and take the blame for losing.  The wrestler can't blame the guy who blew the double play or missed a tackle.  It's not a lonely sport.  Yes, it's just you and your opponent out there on the mat But even in an individual sport you need help.  You'll need the cooperation and encouragement of your teammates, the enthusiasm and knowledge of your coachs and the understanding and support of your friends and family.  It is one of the fairest sports in that it favors no particular size or stature among wrestlers, it is a sport for all sizes.  There is room for everyone.

to be a successful wrestler you'll have to work hard and eat right, and build you body.  It isn't easy, so why do it?  Wrestling helps athletes develop in several areas and offers these benefits.

Wrestling is a safe sport, and serious injuries rarely occur.  There are however constant bumps and bruises because of the contact nature of the sport.   The wrestler soon learns that the little aches and pains will contribute to his toughness.

As Parents you will be proud and enthusiastic!  You will watch you child take the mat alone and mature before your eyes.  They will laugh anc cry with you and you will grow closer through it all. Welcome to the adventure of wrestling.
