The 05- 06 season ended with a Huge feet for this Program. After a Strong Hard Fought Season in the practice room and on the mat your Varsity Team finished with a strong 12-15 record. This was with 4 losses by less then 10 points. We had a strong showing at the Franklin Regional Duals as a team finishing 6 - 1 in a 3 way tie for 1st and only ending up in 3rd because of criteria. Then at the PowerAide Tournament with only taking 4 young men Finishing with Curtis Branchen with a 2nd and Brendan Cutenese with a 7th. And coming around to the Allegheny Tournement having 3 Place winners Curtis Branchen in 2nd Brendan Cutenese in 3rd and Conrad Branchen finishing 5th. Finally finishing the season at the Sections were Curtis Branchen finished 1st for the 2nd year in a row and Conrad Branchen Finishing 2nd and at the WPIAL Tournament Curtis Branchen Finishing 2nd being the 1st Avonworth Wrestler to Qualify for the State Tournament since 1984.
At Hershey Curtis wrestled to be the first Avonworth Wrestler to place at a state tournament finishing 5th at 152 lbs.
