The 2004 - 2005 Season and Summer Results Congratulations to Curtis Branchen for going 6-2 and placing 7th at the Super 32 Challenge Tournament in North Carolina. This tournament is one of the largest pre-season tournament in the country. This year they had about 600 young men wrestling in the high school division. For other results click here Congratulations: To Curtis Branchen and the Pennsylvania Freestyle and Greco Roman Teams for placing 7th in Greco and 6th in Freestyle at the Junior Dual National Championships in Enid, Oklahoma. Curtis wrestled for them at the 152lbs weight class and had a strong showing in both Freestyle and Greco. Congratulations: To Mark Roney For Placing at 3rd place finish in Freestyle States and a 2nd place finish in Greco-Roman States. Also to Curtis Branchen for his 2nd place finish in Freestyle states. Both these young men now have the opportunity to compete at the Junior Freestyle and Greco-Roman National tournament.

Mark Roney As the current Career Wins Leader for Avonworth wrestling and Northgate wrestling Congratulation to Brendan Cutenese who finished this weekend in 4th place at the Wpial Wrestling championships at Canon McMillan over the past weekend. Brendan Finished with a 3 - 2 tournament record. Others that wrestled in the tournament were Eric Vone, Curtis Branchen and senior Mark Roney. Congratulation To the Avonworth Varsity Wrestlers that wrestled this past weekend in the Section tournament at North Allegheny. The Wrestlers that will be moving to WPIAL tournament next week at 125lbs Brendan Cutenese Section Champ, 135lbs Mark Roney Section Runner-up, 140lbs Eric Vone Section Champ, and 145lbs Curtis Branchen Section Champ. GOOD LUCK . Congratulation Also to Avonworth's only Senior Varsity wrestler, Mark Roney.
