Who are we?  We are  Avonworth Jr. Wrestling! We reside in the North Boroughs area of Pittsburgh and are part of W.P.I.A.L. defined area seven.  Our wrestlers range in age from 5 to 12 and our coaching staff is all volunteer and totally dedicated to developing fine athletes and sportsmen.  We teach folk style wrestling and are eager to see new wrestlers join us as we actively pursue the further revitalization of the wrestling sport. 

We encorage our Wrestlers continues on to the Jr. High and High School levels.   Competing with local  W.P.I.A.L. Schools in the AAA level of Pennsylvania wrestling.  The coaches in this level together add up to more then 70 yrs of experience on the mat.  This consist of Coaching, Wrestling in Divsion I and II, Wrestling in High School, And Wrestling Greco Roman and Freestyle divisions.

 Watch for our tournament!  As participants in Pennsylvania area seven we once during the wrestling season have an open tournament.  This year it is being held Jan 27, 2006 at Avonworth High School. We usually see approximately 400 youngsters wrestle and provide 1st through 4th place trophies as well as team trophies at the tournaments end. We have one of the finest tournaments in the Pittsburgh area with participants coming from as far as Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia and our trophies are legendary!
